April Pride, host : [00:00:00] Hey, it’s April Pride, your host here on the High Guide podcast. I’d like to take a moment to remind you that we do discuss cannabis and psychedelics, and this podcast is intended for audiences 21 and over. Also, I am not a medical expert. We do discuss interventions and protocols and you should consult your medical professional before moving forward with anything that we may discuss here on the show. Before we begin, I’d like to thank our show sponsor of like Minds. Check out of like Minds Co That’s of like minds mind. Esco To learn more about Seattle’s trusted source for psilocybin. Hi again. Today we’re talking about penis envy, not the Freudian concept. I’m talking about psychedelic mushroom strain. When I take shrooms, I’ve had a hard time seeing visuals. The more potent the strain, the more likely you are to see visuals. And that’s why I want to revisit the very potent mushroom variety called Penis Envy of Like Minds held a live Q&A about psilocybin, and four different people talked about having a challenging trip. And after the Q&A, each of them confessed to me that they had taken penis envy. What I’m saying is this is a strain to Revere. It’s not child’s play, but with the right preparation and awareness going on. Penis envy has profound and valuable lessons to teach us. And a quick heads up for our listeners. The recording you’re about to listen to has a different sound quality. Obviously, the most direct way to intensify a mushroom trip is to choose one of the most potent mushroom strains like albino penis envy.

April Pride, host : [00:01:46] I’m going to read you a few of my notes that I jotted in my journal the morning after the event. I’ll further explain what’s behind the shorthand as I go. And then after I read my minutes, so to speak. Stay tuned for a shroom strain review on Albino penis envy. The strain you heard me refer to at the top of the show. So which nuggets shall I share from my journal? Let’s see which Entheogens are decriminalized in Seattle. Psilocybin mushrooms, ayahuasca, ibogaine and non peyote derived mescaline Women in psilocybin. What have I learned about women’s health and psilocybin? Jennifer Chechik, who is the author of the soon to be released The Psilocybin Handbook for Women. I learned this while reading an early copy of her book that we should time our trips with ovulation, find that the energy afforded to us during the ovulatory period is very conducive and helpful to the mushroom experience. Microdosing starting at 80mg a good idea. I start at like 150, but I do think that 80 is. That’s a good idea. I found myself explaining what’s the difference between different shroom strains as we discuss here? There’s a quote that you’ll hear later. A cube is a cube except penis envy. And so I was going into that on Tuesday night. And then there was a question, you know, I want a drink and then have mushrooms and is that okay? And I say no, because I always think adding alcohol is not a good idea when you’re talking about other substances just because it can be unpredictable.

April Pride, host : [00:03:17] But I did want to acknowledge that there are people that do that, people that are close to me, and it’s everything’s fine. However, there was a facilitator there on Tuesday night and she backed me up and was like, No alcohol, don’t do that. It’s just way too unpredictable. But what the conversation where it ended up going was you really just need to be careful, right? That you’re in a setting with people you can trust and that you’re not going to be put in harm’s way. Be with it. So that’s really where that thinking comes from, right? I just want to keep people safe. And then emphasis on setting, as I was saying, the people, places and props, including the importance of music. Don’t forget, we’ve got the site audio series that we did with Patchworks, but we’ve got those six episodes that you can listen to while your trip. It’s really fun. Equal Access The expense of regulated Psilocybin Assisted Therapy. The numbers came out recently from Oregon. It’s $3,500 a session. So what’s the solution? There was a lot of conversation around healing circles. So what’s a healing circle? We’re going to talk more about that in another episode, because what we’re creating here with of like Minds and the high guide is intended to be healing circles that are healing through fun. Now we’ll get into that in later episodes, but now let’s get into albino penis envy, aka a.

Speaker2: [00:04:36] Which is reported.

April Pride, host : [00:04:37] To have 3 to 4 times the potent effects as say, Golden Teacher, which we covered in a previous newsletter and in episode 59 of the show. This is episode 61, so it’s just a couple episodes ago. Although many shrooms claim to be more potent than usual, we’ve gone over that on this show. They’re all more potent than you would expect. Only one is so famous that it’s changed. The phrase a cube is a cube to include, except penis envy, also known as P, the so called penis mushrooms have a history full of interesting twists and are consistently reported to be magnitude stronger than other psilocybin containing mushrooms. When P was crossed with most likely albino A+ psilocybe Cubensis, the result was a variety more potent than the most potent. As I mentioned, it’s the species is psilocybe cubensis and the origin, the legendary origin of the species, has famed psychologist and Psychonaut Terence McKenna stumbling across a patch of the penis mushrooms while on one of his forays in the Amazon, McKenna brought spore prints back to the US, one of which found its way into the hands of mycologist rich guy who cultivated the fungus for us into its familiar phallic form. I want to take a minute to explain a term that might be new to you. Whole fruit bodies. Mushrooms have these amazingly intricate underground route networks that are a big part of what make mushrooms magical. The fruiting body is the part of the mushroom we see above ground, the cap and the stem. And those are the parts that make magical mushrooms magic. For the true romantics who want to experience the purest form of psilocybin, our whole fruit bodies, which are carefully dried and sold by the eighth of an ounce, are the way to go.

April Pride, host : [00:06:24] Of like minds. Fruit bodies are cultivated and sourced in Seattle, where of like minds is based. It’s important to us to work with trusted partners. That’s why our whole fruit bodies come from the same guy who helps us create our amazing caramels. All of our fruit bodies are cultivated in source in Seattle, where of like minds is based. It’s important for us to work with trusted partners. That’s why our whole fruit bodies come from the same guy who helps us create our amazing caramels. Now let’s talk strains. We’ve got three excellent varieties of magic in our whole fruit bodies collection. There’s the potent and intriguing penis envy, the gentle, inviting hillbilly and the captivating Ecuador. Each strain offers a unique experience tailored to different preferences and explorations that we write about in depth on our website. We do understand that not everyone wants to chew on a dried mushroom. Maybe you’ve got a sensitive stomach or you prefer a different taste profile to dried up dust. So I do want to mention that we also make scrumptious chocolate covered psilocybin caramels. We make microdose offerings. If you’re new to the world of psychedelics and just want a more subtle approach. So whether you’re seeking the purity of whole fruit bodies or the convenience of taste of an edible, or if you’re looking to take baby steps into tripping via microdosing, the of like Minds website is a place to go to get started. Explore a range of offerings.

April Pride, host : [00:07:51] Read up on the experiences of others. And if you live in Seattle, you can of course purchase one of our educational PDF downloads and as your gift with purchase, you will receive shipped via third party carrier a gift from of like minds to you at your Seattle. As I said, many mushrooms sign up for the of like minds newsletter and follow us on social media at minds.com for all the updates. Psychedelic researchers at Oakland all but confirmed during its annual psilocybin cup. Kind of like the Emerald Cup for weed that penis envy can be between 50 and 100 times stronger than other varieties. Some growers and those who buy penis envy cubensis suggest that albino variety may be even more potent. I cannot not stress that albino penis envy is for the advanced psychonaut only. Even then, it should be approached with caution and reverence. As with all mushroom experiences. I highly recommend making sure you’re in a safe place when experiencing ape as a particularly potent mushroom. It may also be advisable to have a trip sitter with you, someone who can help you through what may become a very intense experience. After such an experience, it can take some time to integrate any revelations. The effects of penis mushrooms are similar to those of other shroom varieties, though highly intensified visual hallucinations air on the wavy side of things rather than the geometric patterns that are common with other varieties. The high is also described as clean by some trippers with less heaviness or lethargy in the body. That would be good for me. I tend to get quite tired.

April Pride, host : [00:09:30] This leads to feelings of euphoria and out-of-body experience as Ape is generally a more potent variety. In my experience, even lower doses can lead to the sorts of dissociative experiences that are more typical of a strong or heroic dose. Again, exercise caution in exploring penis mushrooms. I just like saying penis mushrooms Appearance. Albino penis envy is named well because it looks like penis. As Hamilton Morris brilliantly reports in his podcast episode, entirely dedicated to this variety mycologist rich guy is said to have shown them to a group of Seattle dancers of the rich variety. For those of you who are local and have been so for a while who claimed they look, I live in Seattle, so this is great. Who claimed they look like Donkey Dongs? Guy asked if they had penis envy and the name stuck. The albino variety has a very light coloring and stems and caps and bruises, a dark blue and damaged a sign of a potent shroom. Actually, there is some debate about that and we’ve gone over that in an earlier episode duration. All right. So albino penis envy intense trip lasts about six hours. My trips are like to the minute. Four hours effects become noticeable in the usual 30 to 60 minute window. That is usual for Psilocybe Cubensis. Although there’s no way to guarantee the potency of any particular mushrooms. Aip is consistently reported to be some magnitudes more potent than most other psilocybin containing mushrooms. Those beginning to experiment with these infamous fungi may want to step down to a lower dose than usual while becoming accustomed to the penis envy effect.

[00:11:17] And leave you with.

April Pride, host : [00:11:19] Today’s strip tips to win with ape in the wild, which means without a facilitator. Number one, the museum dose. While this variety is not intended for Microdosing ape is great for museum doses 250 to 500mg because remember, it’s 3 to 4 times more potent than if you were to take 250mg or 500mg of golden teacher. So you take a capsule and invites increased openness to be social, to go to a museum, to be lost in the art, or to go outside and embrace nature. Trip Tip number two antidepressants appear to reduce the effect of psilocybin in some people. I’ve linked to a comprehensive list posted by facilitators who match the records of their patients with clinical research information. Definitely find this link and take a look because you may be surprised at the specificity. For instance, Wellbutrin, which I take daily, doesn’t seem to suppress the effects of psilocybin, but about six other snris do significantly. And the third trip tip when the effects of psychedelics are amplified, so is the potential for our emotions to wander into a humbly vulnerable state. Also amplified is the potential for suppressed memories to resurface. This Tuesday’s convening of the High Guide to Psilocybin had a few consistent topics and the importance of setting. As I mentioned earlier in the show, the people, places and props things you have in your immediate surroundings. When you take a strain like Ape, invest the same 3 to 4 times on getting your setting dialed in and enjoy the ride.

April Pride, host : [00:12:57] We’ve got one more episode on psilocybin strains coming up, so stay tuned. And if you liked this episode, we’ve linked some past episodes on related topics in the show notes that you can listen to. In the meantime, thank you as always for listening to the High Guide podcast and we’ll see you next time. Unveiling the profound insights into Golden Teacher. Hi and welcome back to the. Of Like Minds podcast. Today we’re going. Today we’re closing our mini series on psychedelic mushroom varieties with the beloved strain Golden Teacher. I call it Fisher Price, My first Magic Mushroom. I know I’ve said that on the show a million times before, but it’s just the perfect descriptor because that’s exactly what it is. Golden Teacher is the go to strain for everybody. It’s very easy to cultivate. And the name Golden Teacher says it all right. We take mushrooms to learn something about ourselves, about the world around us, the people around us. And when you’re golden, that’s always good. This mushroom is a good teacher, and we want to make sure everyone’s got this one in their back pocket. This episode concludes our three part mini series on magic mushroom strains. I hope it was informative and that you learned something new.

And today we’re talking about CBD and how to use it properly to counteract pain, inflammation and stress. Cbd has been coming up in conversation a lot. People are starting to understand that the amount of CBD you need to take is much greater than the ten milligrams advised on the packaging of most CBD products. It’s not going, it’s just not going to do anything and it’s certainly not going to do anything for inflammation to feel the benefits of CBD. You have to take something closer to a common dose of Advil or Tylenol, which is 200 to 400mg. If you do that, CBD will meaningfully reduce inflammation in the body, which translates to less pain. Thanks for listening as always. And if you’re interested in learning more about how and why CBD and other substances act on inflammation, we have a fascinating episode on ketamine for pain that we’ve linked to in the show notes. And if you’re planning on a sunny getaway for Thanksgiving or over Christmas, CBD lotion or balm of any kind is my favorite for sunburn Pain.
